And Eve Said... "To Hell with God"

The Old Testament of the Bible states that God created man in His image, which would lead many to see Genesis as chauvinistic. What of Eve? Although greatly argued, the existence of a female Goddess is equally and vaguely documented, allowing us a clearer understanding of the influences that led to where we are today, ensnared in a battle of the sexes.
Sal Rivers uses his life experience in law enforcement to outline, in handbook style, said battle. His unique and blunt approach forces us to reevaluate our beliefs and explore the gender war by taking it back to the principles of creation. For example, what if this battle is more than terrestrial, still being fought in the heavens as we struggle to connect here on Earth?
Each of us participates in the gender war on a daily basis and seeks to find solace in a partner who seeks the same. Understanding today’s dating rules is imperative, but recognizing the decisions of the ancient and more recent past when men attempted to subordinate women will aid in revealing humanity’s shortcomings and assumptions about love. Perhaps, then, our relationships will become experiences of divine elation instead of fruitless endeavors.

Introduction
As a young man growing up in NYC during the late 60s, I became aware of the obstacles created by society in general, that prevented otherwise interested people from engaging in conversation. Driving a taxi during that period of time, I engaged many people in conversation and elicited opinions on the primary cause. The most recurring opinion that was presented was fear. Fear of rejection, fear of humiliation, fear of physical contact: aggressive or passive. During a career in law enforcement, I quickly became exposed to the end product of some of that physical fear, where men are incarcerated for crimes that could be tracked back to these fears. Specifically the impact that the levels of the hormone testosterone has on our society, via the imbalance of its presence in males and females as a governing factor in aggression. Complicated by the rules put forth by the old testament and organized religion, relationships between men and women became very taxing unless the females accepted subservience and the men complied with rules that strained their physical drives.
I chose to convert my research into a book, rather than a Master’s Essay, more as a guidebook for young men in the style of a conversation that might freely occur in a gender specific gathering such as a bar or bachelor party. The subject matter quickly became more controversial than intended as the origins of proper behavior were considered. While we start with fairy tales about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, it is the much revered mothers in our families that lead the way in forging our civility, until puberty sets in. Both men and women rebel, being guided by the latest information being peddled by the media, friends, the internet and other sources. Parents are left behind, similar to their general inability to keep track of the latest technology. The subject matter covered in this book should be included in that mythical conversation about the birds and the bees, that skirts the real issues.
How many parents will have this conversation with their young men and women, using the table of contents as a guide and prevent some of the pain and suffering that follow relationships, oftentimes to a s state prison or suicide. The academic community can write many papers, citing their vast knowledge on the subject, and quoting subject matter experts. So why is there so much misery in relationships, keeping us in a gender war, that shows no sign of an end? You may read this book and challenge every opinion, but are you willing to publicly present analysis and alternatives? Not just in a scathing review, but in a conversation with your 17 year old, who desperately needs your knowledge and experience.
